Delete your FairJar account and data

You can delete your FairJar identity whether you use anonymous sign-in or have linked a Google account.

In the app

  1. Open FairJar and go to Home, where your groups are listed.
  2. Tap Delete my data below the Google account button.
  3. Read the confirmation and tap Delete my data again. If you linked Google, verify the same Google account when prompted.

Keep an internet connection until deletion finishes and you return to onboarding. If it fails, try again or email us.

Cannot access the app?

Email hello@fairjar.app with the subject “FairJar data deletion request”, your group code and display name. If you linked Google, include that email address so we can find the correct identity. We may ask for details to verify the request. You do not need to reinstall the app to request deletion.

What is deleted and what stays

Deletion removes your group memberships, cloud profile (including join and leave timestamps and onboarding state), and Firebase identity, including any Google link. In-app deletion also clears local app data from that phone. It does not delete your Google account.

Shared group history (expenses, settlements, wishlists, gift claims and games) stays so other members retain their records, including any display name already stored on those records. Deletion does not settle money you owe or are owed. Settle balances first if possible; a non-zero balance will not block deletion. Leaving a group alone is not account deletion.
